Heroes 4 Wildlife (H4W) is a not for profit organization dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation, supporting wildlife organizations around the world and public awareness.
At Heroes 4 Wildlife (H4W), our mission is to inspire environmental stewardship and wildlife conservation through education, action, and collaboration. We are committed to protecting native wildlife and ecosystems through wildlife rehabilitation, connecting communities, empowering youth, and supporting vital rehabilitation and preservation efforts across Ontario and beyond.
Our vision is a future where people of all ages are engaged in the protection, rehabilitation, and conservation of the natural world. This vision is realized through five key pillars:
-
OPERATING in partnership a wildlife rehabilitation hospital to ensure access to critical care for injured and orphaned wildlife;
-
ASSISTING international wildlife rehabilitation efforts through fundraising and in-kind support;
-
CREATING accessible environmental awareness opportunities in our local communities;
-
TEACHING current wildlife conservation and preservation strategies to the public, schools, and professionals;
-
ENGAGING youth with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that build environmental literacy and inspire future careers in conservation.
H4W delivers a wide range of environmental programming, including direct wildlife rehabilitation, educational presentations, immersive festivals, and professional conferences. We are proud to be the lead partner in operating Durham Region’s only wildlife rehabilitation hospital, where we oversee daily operations, provide medical treatment, and manage a robust volunteer and student training program.
